Dyno Testing
Avoid costly downtime and prolonged installation by having your engine tested. Carter Power Systems has two dynamometers available for testing engines ranging from 300 to 4,000 horsepower. By testing your engine, you get the opportunity to certify fuel consumption, assure rebuild quality, confirm horsepower and output, and make adjustments during the initial break in.
Our dyno has a wide range of engine testing capabilities, such as 24-hour and continuous testing, military testing, and by the hour or by the job options. We can test many makes and models including Cat®, Cummins, Detroit, EMD, Alco, Paxman, and more.
Why Dyno Testing?
Dyno testing your engine gives you a full breakdown of exactly how your engine performs. The computerized dynamometer provides accurate torque and RPM numbers. This can help you make informed decisions about the maintenance and rebuild services that you have had done on your engine as well as help you decide what to do in the future. Other results of a dyno test include:
- Temperature of exhaust gas
- Written record of performance
- Torque and peak torque
- Horsepower
- Temperature of cylinders and pistons
- Volume metric efficiency
